Weddings at Our Lady of Lourdes

The Sunnybank Catholic Parish welcomes you with great joy as you celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage! Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and we are happy to assist you with your preparations. Please contact the parish office (07) 3345 3766 to arrange a meeting with one of our priests.
 
Wedding Preparation:
  • At least one partner must be a baptised Catholic
  • A pre-marriage Education and Preparation Course has to be completed. The course covers important relationship issues such as Conflict Resolution, Listening, and other skills.

Church Capacity and Accessibility:
  • Our Lady of Lourdes Church is able to accommodate over 400 people.
  • There is a private area for parking behind the church which can be made available to your guests.
  • The church is also well situated for public transport via bus (Mains Rd) or train (Altandi Station)
 
Booking Availability:
  • Pending availability, the church is available for weddings:
    • Monday – Friday, 11am – 2pm
    • Saturday 12:30pm – 3:30pm
  • We are unable to accommodate bookings on the following days:
    • Sundays
    • Holy Week
    • Easter Weekend
    • Christmas Eve
    • Christmas Day

Costs:
The parish asks for a donation of $700 to cover costs including:
  • Administration including the lodgement of civil and canonical documents
  • Donation to book the church, which includes offsetting cleaning, electrical, insurance and other maintenance costs.
  • Priest’s stipend

For an extra cost:
  • We can assist with designing and printing wedding booklets.
  • The wedding can be live streamed to family and friends unable to make it in person.
 
 
Wedding Musicians/Singers
The parish has a number of dedicated professional and non-professional musicians and singers available for hire who are fully versed in liturgical music suitable for a wedding.
 

​PALOMA Reception Centre
Rooms in the PALOMA Reception Centre are available for hire for your reception.
  • The Jacaranda Room – can seat up to 120 people and includes a stage and dance floor.
  • The Avocado Room – can seat up to 70 people and includes a projector and courtyard which can seat an additional 24 people if needed.
